Richard (“Dick”) S. Gold, son of Melvin Gold and Edith Gold, brother of Lora Gold Reed and wife of Erika Taubner Gold was born December 10, 1930 and died September 19, 2018. He served in the U.S. Army from January 11, 1955 through January 10, 1957.
His daughter Marilyn married Joel Zaas. Marilyn and Joel had three children, Stuart (who married Leah Jaffe), Sarah (who married Ben Kweller) and Daniel Zaas.
His son, Allen Eric, married Denise Michele Hodge and they had one child, a daughter, Jacqueline or “Jazzy” Gold.
Richard was buried in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Block 610, Lot R, Grave 74, 27855 S. Aurora Road, Solon, Ohio.
Dick was a loving father, husband, grandfather and Uncle. Mike Reed took his first airplane ride on the way to Cleveland to spend time with his aunt, uncle, cousins and grandparents. When the Reed family would visit Cleveland, they would always spent Sunday afternoons with the Gold and Taubner families. Hours spent playing with his cousins, visiting with the Taubner and eating chicken paprikas were always a treat (ok, the chicken paprikash was not a treat-I intensely disliked it). Dick enjoyed rifle shooting when he was younger, studied science in college and worked in the medical field along with his wife, for his career. Dick loved photography and enjoyed traveling and taking pictures.
