Lois Ostrom Weiland married Gary Marcus on __________________. Gary is the son of Selma Marcus (nee _____) and Mose Marcus. Early in their married lived, they moved to France while Gary fulfilled his military obligation. Their children ____________ and _____________ were born in France. Afterwards, they lived in Cincinnati (on Redbud Avenue) and then moved to Berkeley, California when their youngest child, Susie, was an infant. Gary worked as a cardiologist and remains a fitness aficionado. Gary ran many marathons and loved the game of tennis. Many an evening was spent in the basement of their home playing ping pong.

Daughter Beth married Daniel Gordon and lives in Baltimore after living in Berkely and Israel. Both Beth and Daniel are physicians.

Together they had 8 children. They are Avi, Zachary, Mose, ______________ and _________________.

Son Ben Marcus attended the University of California at La Jolla followed by law school at the University of Cincinnati. Ben was a regular on Sunday nights at family dinners, which regularly included Jan and Maury White, Jess and Danny White and Brb and Mike Reed and all of their children. After law school, Ben moved to Columbus, Ohio where he opened a coffee shop by the name of Insomnia. Ben loved to bake as a child and he carried this passion to his work as he would go into work during the wee hours of the morning to bake products to sell in his. coffee shop. From there, Ben added a coffee cart at the Ohio State University and another local location and then one in Texas. Thanks to his grandmother, Selma Marcus, he met his future wife, Melanie Cartiff, a native of Pittsburgh, who was working on Columbus when Grandma Sel spotted her and introduced her to Ben. They married and moved to California where they built a wonderful life. They have 3 children, Jordan, Hanna and Sophia. Ben worked as a real estate agent and eventually got into real estate investing.

Daughter Susie attended the University of Colorado at Boulder where she met her future husband, Ross Liebenson. Ross, an attorney, and Susie, a graphic designer, artist and web creator, had 2 children, Jake and Ari. Ari attended the University of Southern California where he was a punter on the football team.

The extended Marcus family is an incredibly close, warm and loving family.
